WHERE TO GO IN KOS

So, you have just picked up the keys to your choice of rental . You have a full tank of petrol and the question is “Where can we go”? Kos is a beautiful island with numerous beaches and archaeological sights. A few days of touring is necessary to explore the island.

CLOSE TO HOME

Kefalos village; Why not start with a taste of true Greek village life, on your doorstep?

Limionas: Follow the road past the bank, out of the village. Limionas has a natural harbor, (the original harbor of Kefalos) two beaches and a taverne.
Agios Theologos: A lovely drive to a beach, old chapel and a taverne. This place is also known as Sunset or Wave beash.
Agios Ioannis: Spectacular views across Kefalos bay
Agios Stefanos: A 5th Century Basilica with an excellent beach and views across to Agios Nicolaos

ON THE ROAD TO AIRPORT

Beaches: Have fun at our waterpark at Paradise beach and other sandy beaches.Which is your favorite?
Plaka: A sunken forest, which is home to numerous peacocks.
Antimahia: A very “Greek” village. Look out for the Windmill and the Fort on the road to Kos Town.
Mastichari: A small tourist resort, which has a harbor.
Kardamena: A lively resort, well worth a visit.

ON THE ROAD TO KOS TOWN

Spectacular Views; After you pass Antimachia Fort, the road winds down towards Pili and Zipari. The views to the left are breath taking. Zipari and Pili: Two small towns that have kept their Greek character. Zipari is on the main road, Pili is about 1 km off the road. Marmari and Tigkaki: These are two large tourist resorts, both with good beaches. There is an excellent coastal drive through Tigaki along to Lampi. Zia: A major tourist attraction. Zia has craft shops, taverns, bars and views that are among the best in the Greek islands. A great place to wander. (Also home of the famous Zia Greek night)
Asklepieion: Follow the signs for Platani then Asklepieion. Asklepios was a legenary Greek figure, reputed to be the God of Health and medicine. Other legends refer to him as a mortal who lived in the 14th Century BC. Either way, the site is spectacular and well worth a visit.

KOS TOWN

There is so much to say about Kos town.I will draw your attention to 3 possibilities.
The Harbour: Everything from large liners, wooden boats for day trips to small fishing boats. Lined by taverns, bars and shops.
The Ancient Sites: Far too many to mention. Have a look at the map and find Hippocrate”s tree, the anclient Agora, the western thermae…..
Shopping: Sorry Gentlemen, but the plastic money is widely accepted here!
